Professional Liability Attorney

A law firm in Torrance, CA, is seeking a highly qualified Professional Liability Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for independently managing a diverse caseload of professional liability litigation, overseeing cases from inception through resolution. This role involves handling a broad range of professional liability matters, including malpractice cases and claims against attorneys, insurance agents/brokers, accountants, and real estate agents. The position requires a J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school, admission to the California Bar, superior academic credentials, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Independently manage a litigation caseload, overseeing cases from initial filing through final resolution.
• Handle a wide array of professional liability matters, including malpractice claims against attorneys, insurance agents/brokers, accountants, and real estate agents.
• Develop and implement case strategies, conduct legal research, and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates on case progress and addressing any questions or concerns.
• Represent clients in court, arbitration, and mediation, presenting arguments and evidence effectively.
• Engage in discovery processes, including taking depositions, handling interrogatories, and reviewing documents.
• Collaborate with colleagues, experts, and clients to build and support case arguments.
• Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and case law to ensure informed legal representation.
• Manage case deadlines and priorities, ensuring timely and efficient handling of all legal matters.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in professional liability, accounting malpractice, and/or commercial litigation.
• Proven track record of independently managing a litigation caseload.
• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to the California Bar.
• Superior academic credentials.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in legal research and case management tools.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the California Bar.
