A law firm in San Francisco, CA  is seeking a Construction Defect Law Associate Attorney with over 7 years of experience in construction defect, general liability, and complex civil litigation. The ideal candidate will have significant experience taking and defending depositions, attending court appearances, participating in mediations, and drafting and opposing motions. Strong writing and analytical skills are essential for success in this role.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and litigate construction defect cases, including handling complex civil litigation matters.
  • Take and defend depositions, and represent clients in court appearances.
  • Participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
  • Draft and oppose motions, including summary judgment motions, motions to compel, and other pre-trial motions.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare detailed legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and discovery requests.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare cases for trial.
  • Collaborate with clients, experts, and team members to build strong case foundations.
  • Maintain accurate case files and documentation.
  • Stay current on legal developments and trends in construction defect and related fields.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in construction defect, general liability, and complex civil litigation.
  • Significant experience taking and defending depositions, attending court appearances, and participating in mediations.
  • Proven ability to draft and oppose motions effectively.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Bar in California.
