Personal Injury Attorney

Job Overview: A well-established and award-winning plaintiff law firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Attorney to join their team in Jersey City, New Jersey. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience handling personal injury cases, including but not limited to auto, motorcycle, truck, and slip-and-fall accidents. Location:

Duties:

• Communicate directly with clients to understand their legal needs and provide expert advice.
• Develop strategies to resolve cases favorably and cost-effectively.
• Review discovery documents and determine the best course of action for each case.
• Administer and take depositions and oral hearings with case witnesses and experts.
• Prepare all necessary documentation required to file cases (approximately 150 caseload).
• Work closely with legal assistants and paralegals to prepare comprehensive briefs for trial.
• Maintain a regular schedule of hearings, court appearances, and conferences.
• Supervise and guide two paralegals in case management.
• Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and resolve property damage claims.
• Handle trials and provide advocacy for clients in court.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of plaintiff’s personal injury experience.
• Must be licensed to practice law in New Jersey (NJ Bar).
• Proficiency in negotiating settlements with insurance carriers.
• Strong trial experience and the ability to handle complex cases.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Familiarity with case management and document management systems (e.g., Smart Advocate).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage a high caseload.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Willingness to travel to court as required.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
• Hybrid flexibility available.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• NJ Bar License (Required).
