Job Title: Labor Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a dedicated Labor Associate Attorney to specialize in traditional labor law and workplace compliance. This role involves representing employers, providing strategic counsel, and handling various workplace law matters to support client organizations in maintaining compliant and effective operations.

Duties:

  • Represent employers in traditional labor matters and provide legal counsel on workplace law.
  • Manage unfair labor practice charges before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB).
  • Handle all aspects of NLRB elections, union organizing, and corporate campaigns.
  • Advise on and negotiate collective bargaining agreements.
  • Represent management in grievance arbitration and unfair labor practice proceedings.
  • Assist with obtaining mass picketing injunctions.
  • Counsel employers on wage and hour laws, leave management, and disability accommodation issues.
  • Review workplace policies, handbooks, and forms for compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Oversee compensation, commission, and bonus plan reviews.
  • Conduct management training on labor relations, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation prevention.
  • Provide support for due diligence processes related to mergers and acquisitions.
  • Undertake other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of litigation or advisory experience as an attorney.
  • Expertise in traditional labor law preferred.
  • Proficiency in federal and/or California workplace law is a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with state and federal agency enforcement strategies is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar admission, with California Bar membership strongly preferred.

Skills:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective project management abilities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred
  • Willingness to travel for business as needed.
