Job Overview:

Reporting to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney, the Senior Criminal Defense Attorney will manage their caseload, handle client interactions, and collaborate with the Criminal Defense Team.

 

Duties:

  • Advise clients on their legal rights and draft legal documents for their cases.
  • Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide post-hearing advice on strategies.
  • Manage court appearances, trials, motion drafting, witness interviews, and legal research.
  • Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.
  • Efficiently manage the workload of assigned cases.
  • Provide legal analysis to determine possible case benefits.
  • Gather additional evidence to support clients' cases or refute prosecution charges.
  • Prepare clients for depositions, establish essential case strategy goals, and gather information from relevant witnesses and experts.

 

Requirements:

  • 4-5 years of experience in Criminal Defense.
  • Experience handling complex criminal cases at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Fluency in Spanish.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with fellow associates.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage workload efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in case management software.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
