Duties

  • Court Appearances: Prepare for and attend court appearances on time, ensuring all appearances are handled appropriately. Travel may be required for certain court locations, including overnight stays.

  • Court Coverage Placements: Review and request court coverage when necessary, ensuring the timely submission of all required documents for appearance.

  • Mid-Litigation Motions and Responses: Draft, review, and file necessary motions and responses during litigation.

  • Trials and Arbitrations: Prepare for trials or arbitrations as required, which may involve overnight stays for court proceedings in distant counties.

  • Client and Attorney Communication: Communicate with consumers, consumer employers, and attorneys to resolve accounts and legal disputes.

Requirements

  • License: Must be licensed to practice law in the State of North Carolina. Additional licenses in other states are a plus.

  • Court Appearances: Comfortable appearing in court and able to reliably travel to court locations using personal transportation.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel for court appearances with reimbursement for approved travel expenses according to IRS mileage rates.

  • Time Management: Ability to multitask and manage a high caseload effectively.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with clients, attorneys, and employers.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
