Finance Associate

Job Overview:

A prominent AM Law 200 firm is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and experienced Finance Associate to join its Finance Practice Group in Detroit office. The firm specializes in a broad range of corporate finance transactions and works with clients across various industries, including private equity, healthcare, financial institutions, and manufacturing. This role provides an exciting opportunity to handle complex transactions and work with a dynamic, collaborative team.

Location:

Duties:

• Assist in representing clients in complex financing transactions, including private equity financing, acquisition financing, strategic debt financing, asset-based lending, and other debt transactions.
• Deliver high-quality work-product and communicate effectively with colleagues and clients at all levels.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, energy, and enthusiasm for counseling clients in relevant sectors.
• Exhibit responsive, creative, and efficient work habits.
• Continuously improve skills and knowledge and seek guidance for performance improvement.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Take responsibility for business development and networking opportunities with clients.

Requirements:

• 5-7 years of experience in corporate finance transactions within a law firm.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks under significant time constraints.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed attorney in Michigan in good standing, or ability to waive into either jurisdiction.
• Willingness to travel as needed to meet client demands.

Education:

• J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed attorney in Michigan, in good standing, or ability to waive into either jurisdiction.

• Experience in corporate finance transactions, including debt and equity financing.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
