This role involves representing clients in District and Superior Courts, providing expert legal advice, and managing cases from initial investigation through resolution.

Duties

  • Provide legal advice on personal injury cases, including conducting research and keeping clients informed of case developments
  • Review investigative findings, police reports, and medical documents to develop case strategies
  • Prepare legal briefs and formulate arguments for personal injury cases
  • Conduct depositions, engage with expert witnesses, and oversee the discovery process
  • Represent clients in settlement negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Present cases effectively in court, including opening and closing arguments, presenting evidence, and examining witnesses
  • Continuously improve legal processes to enhance case outcomes and efficiency

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of litigation experience, with a focus on plaintiff’s personal injury cases in North Carolina
  • Strong understanding of personal injury law and trial preparation
  • Excellent organizational, research, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admission in good standing to the North Carolina State Bar
  • Admission to the South Carolina State Bar is preferred but not required

Skills

  • Proficiency in case management and legal documentation related to personal injury law
  • Ability to communicate complex legal concepts to clients clearly and effectively
