A law firm seeks a highly skilled associate with 3-6 years of experience to join its renowned Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a strong background in general finance transactions, securities, capital markets, and real estate finance. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in commercial real estate lending, securitization, and servicing transactions. The firm is looking for a proactive, client-focused attorney with strong communication and analytical skills to contribute to its dynamic practice group.

Duties:

  • Handle a range of finance-related transactions, focusing on real estate capital markets and securities.
  • Manage complex commercial real estate lending and securitization matters.
  • Provide guidance on modifications, workouts, and other servicing transactions.
  • Advise clients on legal and financial issues, offering tailored solutions that mitigate risks and align with their business goals.
  • Draft and review transactional documents such as loan agreements, securities filings, and related contracts.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor in all matters related to CMBS.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members across the firm to address complex legal challenges.
  • Stay updated on relevant legal and market developments to offer clients cutting-edge advice.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3-6 years of experience in finance law, with a focus on real estate finance, securities, and capital markets.
  • Solid understanding of commercial real estate lending and securitization processes.
  • Proven experience with modifications, workouts, and servicing transactions.
  • Strong ability to draft and negotiate complex legal documents.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for clients.
  • A client-centric approach, demonstrating business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively within a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the bar of the state of Texas or willingness to apply for bar admission in Texas.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in Texas (or in process of obtaining Texas licensure).

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of real estate finance, securities law, and capital markets.
  • Strong experience in CMBS, commercial real estate lending, and securitization transactions.
  • Ability to draft, review, and negotiate transactional documents with a high level of accuracy.
  • Analytical mindset with superior problem-solving skills.
