Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an ambitious and motivated Associate Attorney to join its growing insurance defense practice in Philadelphia, PA. This opportunity offers substantial litigation experience with the autonomy to develop defense strategies, work with clients, insurance carriers, and the court. The firm seeks candidates who have a minimum of 1 year of experience and a valid state bar license.

Location:

  • Philadelphia, PA

Duties:

  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues to independently develop defense strategies.
  • Conduct extensive legal research and prepare complex pleadings, discovery documents, depositions, motions, and briefs.
  • Provide timely communications, legal advice, and other services to clients and claims personnel on legal and factual matters.
  • Communicate with the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel in accordance with established procedures.
  • Manage assigned cases promptly and effectively, ensuring efficient case disposition.
  • Prepare and present witnesses and evidence at trials, judicial and administrative hearings, arbitrations, and alternative dispute resolutions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in insurance defense or a related legal field.
  • Strong litigation experience, including depositions, discovery, motions, and oral arguments.
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent work ethic and ability to handle a caseload independently.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (other state bar memberships, such as NJ or DE, is a plus).

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (required).
  • Admission to other state bars (NJ, DE, etc.) is a plus.

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
