Junior to Mid-level Labor and Employment Associate

Duties

• Provide legal counsel on employment law matters
• Assist with single-plaintiff litigation, class/collective action litigation, and investigations
• Draft legal documents, including memos, motions, and briefs
• Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and trials
• Advise clients on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on various labor and employment cases
• Manage client relationships and contribute to business development efforts

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in a large law firm setting
• Experience in employment law or general litigation
• Strong academic background
• Excellent writing and communication skills
• Active California Bar membership required
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar

You're destined for success and plenty of it at this awesome L.A. law firm. We cannot figure out why there is so much China scattered throughout this office. The last time we were by their offices, we felt like we should have wired Balducci's to send over a banquet so we could pull that China down from all the bookcases and have a delicious meal. In any event, we like the attorneys here. There is a real folksy feel to them, they are very efficient and all have well-rounded personalities (for the most part). This place knows it's a law firm and the attorneys all take their work and experience there pretty seriously. This is a branch office of a large international law firm. The attorneys working here all seem to give off the air, and have the confidence, that they are working as part of a law firm of substance that is destined for great things. Attorneys we have practiced with from this firm all impressed us when we were in private practice because they appear to have a very good command of their work and quickly assume a leadership role in the cases they are working on. These are the types of lawyers who frequently give co-counsel and opposing counsel notes and little articles about an area of law they enjoy. These are also attorneys who somehow consistently manage to get themseleves involved in the community in many forms. This is a great law firm. The firm is strong in the employment, environmental, real estate and corporate areas. The firm represents major-player national and international corporations, institutions and foreign entities. The congenial atmosphere encourages associates to pursue public service and community and civic involvement.
