A law firm in Washington DC seeks a Biotechnology Litigation Associate Attorney to work on various patent litigation matters in the biology, biotechnology, chemical, and pharmaceutical fields with quality domestic and foreign clients. The ideal candidate should have an advanced degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, pharmacology, or a related field, along with 3-6 years of pharmaceutical, chemical, or biotech litigation, PTAB, and/or related patent experience. Registration to practice before the USPTO is preferred, and top academic credentials, strong analytical abilities, and excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to biotechnology patent litigation matters.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests/responses.
  • Assist with trial preparation, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, and trial strategy development.
  • Collaborate with clients, co-counsel, and experts to develop case strategies and provide legal advice.
  • Attend court proceedings, hearings, and client meetings as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, pharmacology, or a related field.
  • 3-6 years of pharmaceutical, chemical, or biotech litigation, PTAB, and/or related patent experience.
  • Registration to practice before the USPTO is preferred.
  • Top academic credentials from a reputable law school.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Education:

  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, pharmacology, or a related field.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Registration to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preferred.
