Job Overview:
A premier law firm located in San Jose, CA, is currently seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Immigration Attorney. This position provides an exceptional opportunity for a recently admitted attorney to gain hands-on experience in immigration law while working closely with a dedicated team of professionals. Duties:

  • Provide clear explanations of immigration laws and offer strategic solutions for client's needs
  • Represent both non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage and organize a diverse caseload with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Conduct client intake interviews, including visiting detained individuals at detention centers
  • Draft and prepare various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions
  • Review and edit immigration applications and ensure accuracy in documentation
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations to address changes in immigration law
  • Conduct consultations with potential clients and develop tailored strategies for their cases
  • Assist in preparing clients and witnesses for court or USCIS hearings and testimony
  • Draft legal briefs and provide legal analysis to support immigration cases

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active CA Bar admission (or awaiting admission)
  • Proven interest in immigration law, demonstrated through academic clinics, internships, or volunteer experience
  • Ability to manage a caseload and work independently with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Case Management Software is preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active CA Bar Admission (or pending admission)
