Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney (0-2 years of experience) to join their fast-paced and dynamic litigation team. Duties:

  • Direct and support investigations related to asbestos, toxic torts, and construction defect cases.
  • Assess matters and develop strategies to aid in early resolution.
  • Create and execute litigation plans, including trial preparation.
  • Maintain client communication, ensuring compliance with reporting and budgeting guidelines.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal pleadings.
  • Propound and respond to written discovery.
  • Draft and address meet and confer letters regarding discovery issues.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Prepare, respond, and argue law and motion matters.
  • Attend court appearances and hearings.
  • Prepare trial materials, including motions in limine and trial briefs.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree.
  • Active and current membership in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • 0-2 years of experience in civil litigation.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong research, analytical, and communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to handle legal documents and court procedures efficiently.
  • Ability to settle cases and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with legal software and technology.
