A law firm seeks an experienced Immigration Associate to join its team in Austin, TX. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in employment-based immigration law, with experience handling a range of visa and immigration processes. This role involves advising clients on various immigration matters and assisting with the preparation and submission of petitions and applications to the USCIS. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, maintain strong organizational skills, and demonstrate excellent advocacy, research, and writing capabilities.

Duties

  • Advise clients on a variety of immigration matters, including H-1B, PERM, I-140, AOS, L-1, and TN visa processes.
  • Prepare and submit immigration petitions and applications to the USCIS, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
  • Manage client relationships, providing expert advice on immigration strategies and solutions.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and handle correspondence related to immigration cases.
  • Stay current on evolving immigration laws and policies, adapting strategies as needed.
  • Assist in handling complex immigration cases and work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.

Requirements

  • 4-5 years of experience in immigration law, with a focus on employment-based immigration.
  • Proven ability to manage and process H-1Bs, PERMs, I-140s, AOS, L-1s, TNs, and other visa applications.
  • Experience advising clients directly on a broad range of immigration matters.
  • Ability to prepare and file petitions and applications with USCIS.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability to juggle multiple cases.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, working independently and as part of a team.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar or eligibility to practice in Texas.

Skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to clients.
  • Experience managing a high caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
