The successful candidate will handle various legal tasks, engage with clients directly, and contribute to the firm's mission of delivering exceptional legal services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and represent clients in workers' compensation claims.
  • Conduct depositions, mediations, and conferences between claimants and judges.
  • Attend court appearances and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and opinions.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Handle a caseload with multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently.
  • Perform legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
  • Negotiate settlements and engage in dispute resolution with opposing parties.
  • Collaborate with team members, including attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants, to deliver comprehensive legal services.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of experience working in a law firm.
  • Working knowledge of workers' compensation laws and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and administrative skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Effective negotiation skills and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload.
  • Ability to work efficiently with corporate professionals and diverse client bases.
  • Actively licensed to practice law in Kansas and the ability to become licensed in Missouri.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Kansas; ability to obtain Missouri licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in the legal field is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to case management.
