Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to join its Charlotte office. This role involves advising public and privately owned companies on various business matters, including commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. The position offers significant client interaction and the opportunity to provide strategic legal counsel on complex corporate and commercial transactions.

Location:

  • Charlotte, North Carolina

Duties:

  • Review, draft, and negotiate principal and ancillary agreements related to commercial transactions
  • Handle supply, purchase, service, transportation, and related agreements
  • Advise on mergers and acquisitions
  • Provide corporate governance counsel
  • Engage extensively with clients to provide pragmatic business counsel

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of corporate transactional experience
  • M&A experience (preferred but not required)
  • Strong business acumen and ability to quickly grasp business concepts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and work in a team-oriented environment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent

Certifications:

  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar (preferred)

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and legal drafting skills
  • Expertise in handling corporate and commercial transactions
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
