A San Francisco, CA law firm is seeking an experienced Environmental Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in environmental law, focusing on compliance counseling, enforcement defense, litigation, permitting, regulatory authorizations, and agency rulemaking, particularly in air quality regulation and climate change. Active membership in the California Bar is required for this position.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients on environmental matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on environmental laws and regulations.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, permits, and pleadings.
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings, negotiations, and court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm on complex environmental cases.
  • Advise clients on environmental compliance strategies and risk management.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience practicing environmental law.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and laws.
  • Experience in compliance counseling, enforcement defense, litigation, permitting, regulatory authorizations, and agency rulemaking.
  • Demonstrated expertise or strong interest in air quality regulation and climate change.
  • Active membership in the California Bar.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California Bar.
