Job Title: Creditor’s Rights Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm based in Grand Rapids, MI is currently seeking a driven and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join its creditor’s rights litigation practice. The ideal candidate will bring prior exposure to civil litigation and debt collection matters and will be comfortable navigating a high-volume caseload in a collaborative and technology-focused environment. This role requires courtroom appearances across Georgia and the ability to manage both strategic litigation work and case-level execution. Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, a commitment to professional integrity, and a desire to contribute to a firm focused on innovation, compliance, and client service excellence.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, primarily in matters relating to creditor’s rights and consumer collections

  • Formulate litigation strategies aligned with case specifics and firm objectives

  • Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents efficiently and accurately

  • Collaborate with legal support teams, paralegals, and fellow attorneys to manage case dockets

  • Engage in negotiations with opposing counsel and defendants to seek resolutions and settlements

  • Defend against counterclaims and navigate complex litigation as required

  • Monitor regulatory developments in relevant jurisdictions and advise internal teams accordingly

  • Utilize legal technology systems to manage workflows, ensure compliance, and improve efficiency

  • Travel throughout the state of Georgia to appear in court, as needed

Requirements:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the Georgia Bar

  • Based in or near Denver and surrounding areas

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably within creditor’s rights or collections

  • Demonstrated ability to handle a volume docket and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-based practice

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Georgia Bar license in good standing

Skills:

  • Litigation strategy and courtroom advocacy

  • Drafting legal documents and pleadings

  • Negotiation and dispute resolution
