Job Title: Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in Woodbury, NY is seeking a litigation associate to join its expanding insurance defense practice. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of one year of experience in general liability matters, including but not limited to premises liability, NY Labor Law, and vertical transportation claims. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment with a broad scope of litigation responsibilities from case inception through resolution. A flexible work arrangement, including hybrid or remote options, is available.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in complex insurance defense litigation involving general liability claims

  • Handle a full caseload independently, including discovery, depositions, and motion practice

  • Conduct court appearances, oral arguments, and pre-trial conferences

  • Engage in settlement negotiations and prepare cases for trial

  • Maintain regular communication with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams

  • Draft legal documents, reports, and correspondence as required

Requirements:

  • Admission to practice law in the State of New York

  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant litigation experience in insurance defense and/or general liability

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters effectively and independently

  • Strong command of litigation procedures and case handling from start to finish

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active and in good standing with the New York State Bar

Skills:

  • Proficient legal research and writing abilities

  • Effective oral advocacy and communication skills
