Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm in Elizabeth, NJ is seeking a dedicated Immigration Attorney with at least 2 years of experience to join their team. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual interested in Immigration Law. The ideal candidate should be bilingual (Spanish preferred), able to handle a high caseload, and stay updated on changes in immigration policies. The position also includes a paid working interview for two weeks. Strong writing and critical thinking skills are essential for success in this role.

Location:

• Elizabeth, NJ

Duties:

• Represent clients in all immigration cases before USCIS, EOIR, and BIA
• Maintain high-level communication with clients and represent them at Service interviews and Immigration Court
• Ensure consistent casework quality across the firm
• Liaise with other attorneys and share case details for preparation
• Manage high-volume caseload with attention to accuracy and timeliness
• Conduct legal research and write on complex immigration issues
• Draft legal documents, briefs, memos, pleadings, appeals, and various USCIS applications
• Prepare Asylum, Withholding of Removal, and Torture Convention cases
• Advise clients on legal matters
• Oversee and assist legal assistants in case preparation

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Immigration Attorney
• J.D. degree from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in the United States (NJ Bar preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and computer skills
• Ability to handle a high caseload and multitask efficiently
• Must be able to relocate to Elizabeth, NJ, or already reside in the area

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
