Duties:

  • Manage and contribute to trial teams, ensuring trial calendars are properly coordinated.
  • Assist in staffing associates within the litigation group, overseeing assignments, and ensuring optimal team performance.
  • Draft and review legal documents including briefs, motions, and discovery materials.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and support in trial preparation.
  • Manage long-term legal projects, ensuring alignment with team objectives and effective task delegation.
  • Collaborate with practice leaders, managers, and partners to identify staffing needs and resource allocation for client matters.
  • Produce tailored thought leadership materials, such as newsletters and business development pitches.
  • Work efficiently in a matrix environment, coordinating with cross-department teams and clients to deliver results.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in litigation, with a strong foundation in trial preparation and legal writing.
  • Proficiency in handling discovery tasks, including e-discovery.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in drafting briefs, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Ability to assist in the preparation of witnesses and manage trial logistics.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for various audiences.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams and manage cross-functional relationships effectively.
  • A commitment to providing high-quality client service and exceeding expectations.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in a DC State Bar.

Skills:

  • Legal writing and drafting expertise.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Experience in managing legal teams and coordinating staff assignments.
