The role involves drafting and prosecuting patent applications, with a focus on biotech and life sciences innovations. Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications related to biotech and life sciences technologies.
  • Conduct intellectual property (IP) due diligence and freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their innovations and provide strategic IP advice.
  • Prepare and file patent applications, responses to office actions, and other related documentation.
  • Review and analyze competitors’ patents and relevant scientific literature.
  • Assist in managing patent portfolios and developing IP strategies for clients.
  • Work closely with attorneys to support litigation and other IP-related matters.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, patent law changes, and advancements in biological sciences.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.
  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • 3+ years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications.
  • Desirable: Experience in a law firm setting and conducting IP due diligence and FTO analyses.
  • Excellent academic credentials with a strong technical foundation.

Education:

  • Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related discipline.

Certifications:

  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Skills:
