Associate Attorney Real Property and Community Association Law

Job Overview: A law firm seeks a motivated Associate Attorney with experience in real property and community association law to join its legal team in either Tallahassee or Sarasota, FL. The ideal candidate will have 1-7 years of experience providing general counsel services to community associations or business entities. This role primarily involves acting as general counsel, drafting legal documents, advising clients, and attending meetings. Some light courtroom appearances and drafting pleadings will be required in support of litigation counsel. A portable book of business is considered a plus, but not required.

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and analysis on matters related to real property and community associations.
• Draft governing documents, contracts, agreements, and other corporate legal documents.
• Assist with case management, including reviewing and organizing documents.
• Prepare for and participate in client meetings, court hearings, and local government meetings.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop legal strategies and case plans.
• Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements.
• Provide ongoing legal counsel and guidance to clients, ensuring they remain compliant with relevant laws.
• Stay current on legislative and regulatory changes affecting community associations and real property law.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in the state of Florida.
• 1-7 years of experience in real property and community association law or general counsel work for business entities.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines effectively.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

• Active Florida Bar membership.
