Job Overview

A well-established law firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its litigation team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This full-time role is ideal for an attorney with at least 3 years of litigation experience, preferably including trial work and an interest or background in fiduciary litigation. The position offers a dynamic caseload, courtroom exposure, and the opportunity to work in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Duties

  • Manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters from intake to resolution

  • Develop case strategies, conduct legal research, and prepare memoranda

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses

  • Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses for trial

  • Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and trials

  • Engage in settlement discussions and alternative dispute resolution

  • Communicate with clients regarding case updates, strategies, and legal counsel

  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex matters, especially those involving fiduciary disputes

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting

  • Strong trial preparation and courtroom experience preferred

  • Experience or demonstrated interest in fiduciary litigation is a plus

  • Proficient in case strategy, motion practice, and discovery management

  • Ability to manage multiple cases with varying timelines and complexity

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of North Carolina and in good standing

Skills

  • Strong legal research and analytical thinking

  • Excellent oral advocacy and written communication skills

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
