Job Overview:
A law firm based in Dallas, TX, seeks a skilled Consular Processing Immigration Attorney to join their team. This role involves explaining complex immigration concepts, managing a diverse caseload, and representing clients in various immigration matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in immigration law, strong interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to manage legal cases effectively.

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a caseload of diverse immigration cases, ensuring timely and effective legal representation.
  • Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at correctional centers.
  • Prepare and review various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Adjust and finalize immigration applications/packets as needed.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on updates and changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations and determine the appropriate legal strategy.
  • Develop case strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Provide detailed legal analysis to identify potential case benefits for clients.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Proven track record of advancing legal cases and managing a substantial caseload.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR proceedings, Legal Writing, Detained Cases, Citizenship applications, and other USCIS processes.
  • Experience with case management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the State Bar.

Certifications:

  • Bar admission in the state where the firm is located (or willingness to obtain if not already admitted).

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of immigration law and procedures.
  • Exceptional legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide strategic solutions.
  • Proficient in case management software and other legal technologies.
  • High level of professionalism and client-focused approach.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and in high-pressure situations.
