Key Responsibilities

  • Environmental Litigation: Represent clients in environmental litigation matters, including regulatory enforcement and compliance disputes under federal and state environmental laws.
  • Legal Research and Writing: Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and memoranda on environmental law issues.
  • Compliance Advisory: Provide strategic counsel to clients on compliance with state and federal environmental regulations, including analyzing statutory and regulatory frameworks.
  • Environmental Transactions: Assist with environmental aspects of real estate and corporate transactions, including conducting due diligence and identifying potential environmental liabilities.
  • Remediation Case Management: Manage representation of clients in connection with sites requiring remedial action under federal and state laws, particularly CERCLA.
  • Government Agency Negotiations: Engage with state and federal agencies in environmental enforcement matters and compliance actions on behalf of clients.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and responsive legal support.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other attorneys and support staff to provide comprehensive legal services and develop strategic approaches to complex environmental issues.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience practicing environmental law, with a focus on litigation, regulatory compliance, and environmental transactions.
  • Legal Knowledge: In-depth exposure to federal and state environmental laws, including CERCLA, environmental compliance, and regulatory enforcement.
  • Analytical Expertise: Strong ability to analyze and interpret complex environmental regulations and apply them to client issues.
  • Litigation Experience: Experience managing environmental litigation and enforcement matters.
  • Admission: Must be admitted to practice law in the state of Florida or eligible to gain admission.

Education and Certifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.): Degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar Admission: Active admission to the Florida State Bar is required.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in environmental law or additional coursework in environmental regulation are a plus.
