Insurance Defense Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced insurance defense litigation associate to join its growing team in New York. This position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for two remote days per week. The ideal candidate will have experience in insurance defense, including general liability defense, premises liability, and construction accident cases. The firm offers a dynamic work environment and the opportunity to handle cases from inception through to resolution.

Duties:

• Handle a variety of insurance defense cases, including general liability defense, premises liability, construction accidents, and property damage claims.
• Manage cases from inception to conclusion, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
• Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and settlement negotiations.
• Work closely with clients to provide timely updates and legal advice.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to develop case strategies.
• Assist in developing new business and maintaining client relationships.
• Maintain a strong focus on client service while managing a caseload efficiently.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance defense litigation.
• Strong experience in NY Labor Law, premises liability, and complex litigation is a plus.
• Ability to manage cases from start to finish, including trial preparation.
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills.
• Familiarity with handling insurance defense claims, including construction accidents and property damage.
• NJ Bar admission is a plus, in addition to NY Bar.
• Must be able to reliably commute to New York, NY (Zip Code: 10005).

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar (required).
• Admission to the New Jersey State Bar is a plus.
