This role involves managing and supervising various aspects of intellectual property law, including due diligence, freedom-to-operate analyses, and client counseling. Duties:

  • Oversee patent prosecution matters, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews and freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses for complex intellectual property issues.
  • Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and technical specialists on case preparation and strategy.
  • Represent clients in high-level meetings and discussions related to intellectual property portfolios.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop tailored strategies for patent acquisition and portfolio management.
  • Lead global intellectual property initiatives for clients with extensive portfolios.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in patent prosecution, due diligence, and FTO matters.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead teams, including training and supervising junior staff.
  • Expertise in handling large-scale, global intellectual property portfolios.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client-facing roles.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a hard science field, such as molecular biology, cellular biology, gene therapy, or antibodies.
  • An advanced degree in a related field is strongly preferred.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Admission to the Georgia Bar.

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of patent prosecution processes and intellectual property law.
  • Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
