Bankruptcy Attorney

A law firm seeks a skilled Bankruptcy Attorney with experience in consumer bankruptcy law to join its team in Melville, NY. The ideal candidate will be federally admitted and have a strong background in bankruptcy and foreclosure matters. This position offers an opportunity to represent clients in both state and federal court, negotiate settlements, and handle a range of bankruptcy-related legal tasks.

Duties:

• Represent clients in bankruptcy and foreclosure proceedings in both state and federal courts
• Draft, review, and prepare legal documents related to bankruptcy cases, including petitions, motions, and pleadings
• Meet with current and prospective clients to discuss their legal issues and provide sound advice
• Negotiate settlements and explore resolution options for bankruptcy-related legal disputes
• Collaborate with other legal professionals to ensure the smooth progression of cases
• Attend settlement conferences and hearings as needed

Requirements:

• Must be admitted to practice in New York State and federal courts
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in consumer bankruptcy law
• Strong knowledge of legal documents and bankruptcy processes
• Proven ability to represent clients in court and negotiate favorable outcomes
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Strong client relationship-building abilities
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:
