A law firm in Boulder is seeking an EE Patent Agent to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background, preferably with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Candidates with exceptional qualifications in Physics, Computer Science, or other Engineering disciplines will also be considered. Experience in wireless communications is a plus.

Job Duties:

  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in the field of Electrical Engineering.
  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate searches and analyses.
  • Assist with patent portfolio management and strategy.
  • Collaborate with inventors, patent attorneys, and clients to secure intellectual property rights.
  • Provide technical and legal research and analysis on various patent-related matters.
  • Communicate effectively with clients regarding patent prosecution strategies and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
  • 1-2 years of experience working as a Patent Agent or in a related role.
  • Strong understanding of patent law and USPTO procedures.
  • Eligibility to practice before the USPTO.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively.
