Associate Attorney needed for New York City office

Job Overview: A law firm in New York City is seeking a skilled and motivated Associate Attorney with a minimum of 2+ years of experience to provide legal advice and counsel supporting the FIG and Strategy groups. The ideal candidate will work closely with investment professionals, in-house counsel, and general counsels of platform companies to handle transactions, fund-related matters, and general legal support. Duties:

• Provide legal advice and counsel to the FIG and Strategy groups.
• Collaborate directly with investment professionals and in-house counsel on strategic transactions and fund-related matters.
• Support general legal needs of the FIG and Strategy groups and FIG platform companies.
• Assist with transactions of varying scale and scope involving the FIG and Strategy groups or FIG platform companies.
• Handle board administration and governance-related matters for FIG platform companies.
• Review and draft commercial agreements for in-house legal and FIG platform companies.
• Review and provide counsel on disclosures and marketing materials.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with business leadership, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders.
• Partner closely with general counsels of platform companies to address their legal needs.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admitted in good standing to the New York Bar.
• Minimum of 2+ years of relevant legal experience in mergers and acquisitions at a top-tier law firm or in the in-house legal department of a registered investment advisor, hedge fund, or fund of funds.
• Experience advising asset management firms is preferred.
• Proven ability to think critically and propose business-oriented solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team.
• Ability to manage multiple competing projects and meet deadlines effectively.
