Job Overview
A leading global law firm is looking for a Senior Projects Lawyer with over 7 years of experience in construction, procurement, and project development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project development within the renewable energy, energy transition, or oil & gas sectors. The role involves working on complex, large-scale infrastructure projects and advising clients on risk allocation and financing structures. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-profile projects with a focus on energy transition technologies like renewable energy, energy storage, and carbon capture.

Location

Duties

  • Draft and negotiate key project documents such as EPC agreements, O&M agreements, equipment supply contracts, and PPAs.
  • Provide legal guidance on risk allocation, insurance, and financing structures in energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Advise on projects in the renewable energy, energy storage, hydrogen, and other energy transition sectors.
  • Collaborate with developers, energy companies, and investors on complex infrastructure projects.
  • Offer strategic legal and business advice for large-scale, innovative energy projects.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in projects, construction, and development law.
  • In-house legal experience at an energy company, developer, or infrastructure firm preferred.
  • Deep understanding of risk management, insurance, and financing structures in energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with renewable energy projects and energy transition technologies preferred.
  • Exceptional drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercially focused with the ability to provide strategic legal counsel.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Bar membership in relevant state(s).

Skills

  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating construction, procurement, and development agreements.
  • Knowledge of energy and infrastructure project development.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide strategic legal and business advice to clients.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy and energy transition technologies.
