Job Overview: A law firm seeks a motivated and experienced Associate Attorney with a background in real property and condominium/homeowner association law to join its team in either Tallahassee or Sarasota, FL. The ideal candidate will have 1-7 years of experience providing general counsel services to community associations or business entities. This role primarily involves offering general counsel services, drafting legal documents, and providing client guidance, with some light courtroom involvement in support of litigation counsel. A portable book of business is a plus, but not required.

Duties:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on real property and community association matters.
  • Draft and review governing documents, corporate contracts, and agreements for community associations and business entities.
  • Assist with case management tasks, including document review and organization.
  • Prepare for and participate in client meetings, court hearings, and local government hearings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop and execute legal strategies.
  • Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements for clients.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Stay current on legal changes and regulatory updates affecting real property and community association law.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active admission to the Florida Bar.
  • 1-7 years of experience in real property law, condominium/homeowner association law, or providing general counsel services to business entities.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a legal team.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida.
