Job Overview: A law firm in Tampa, FL is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patent and trademark prosecution and litigation, with the ability to manage day-to-day tasks independently.

Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of patent and trademark prosecution and litigation matters.
  • Independently prepare USPTO filings, court pleadings, discovery requests and responses.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and other attorneys regarding case status and strategy.
  • Assist in taking and defending depositions, if required.
  • Draft and negotiate IP agreements and contracts as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in patent and trademark prosecution and litigation.
  • Admission to practice law in Florida, Georgia, California, DC, or New York.
  • Strong preference for candidates with a USPTO registration number or eligibility to sit for the Patent Bar.
  • Excellent academic credentials from an accredited law school.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and practical judgment in legal matters.

Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
