Job Overview

A prominent civil defense law firm is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney with 2 to 6 years of experience in insurance coverage to join its Mt. Laurel, New Jersey office. This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys analytical writing and legal research but also values courtroom advocacy. The position offers a mix of hands-on litigation, coverage analysis, client interaction, and opportunities to work on declaratory judgment actions and bad faith litigation across all lines of insurance.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft detailed coverage opinions and analysis

• Represent insurance carriers in declaratory judgment actions and bad faith defense matters

• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses in complex insurance litigation

• Participate in court appearances, depositions, and trials as needed

• Advise clients on insurance coverage issues, litigation strategies, and risk mitigation

• Maintain communication with clients and ensure timely updates on case developments

• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to manage caseload efficiently

Requirements

• 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in insurance coverage and related litigation

• Demonstrated ability to balance writing-intensive assignments with active litigation responsibilities

• Steady work history reflecting long-term career goals

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Commitment to client service and professional development

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey (required)

• Additional bar admissions (e.g., Pennsylvania, New York) are a plus
