A law firm seeks an experienced Immigration Attorney with a focus on USCIS matters to join their team. This role provides an exciting opportunity for an associate attorney to gain invaluable experience while managing a variety of immigration cases, particularly in removal defense, family-based petitions, and USCIS applications. The successful candidate will report to the Managing Immigration Attorney, handle a diverse caseload, and work closely with both clients and an exceptional team of legal professionals. This position is based in Las Vegas, offering significant opportunities for career advancement within a supportive and growth-oriented environment.

Duties:

  • Develop legal strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances or USCIS testimony.
  • Represent both detained and non-detained individuals in immigration removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
  • Manage a caseload that includes removal defense and various family-based immigration petitions.
  • Conduct client intake at detention centers for detained individuals and provide legal counsel.
  • Prepare and file a range of immigration applications, including those for removal defense, family-based petitions, and citizenship.
  • Review immigration applications and supporting documents, ensuring accuracy and necessary revisions.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, government agencies, and community organizations to stay informed about changes in immigration law and policy.
  • Provide consultations to potential clients, develop case strategies, and advise on the best course of action.
  • Perform legal analysis to assess potential case benefits and develop strategies for success.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs and motions for various immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in Immigration Law, with a focus on USCIS processes, removal defense, and family-based petitions.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of building client relationships and working effectively with colleagues.
  • Experience in handling diverse immigration cases, including humanitarian relief, detained cases, and citizenship applications.
  • Knowledge of EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review) procedures and other related legal processes.
  • Experience with case management software is a plus.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Nevada (or other state bars depending on experience).

Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of USCIS processes, removal defense, and family-based immigration law.
  • Excellent client management, communication, and consultation abilities.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills, including preparing legal briefs and motions.
  • Ability to handle complex immigration cases with diligence and precision.
  • Experience working in both detained and non-detained immigration cases.
  • Familiarity with immigration case management systems and legal software.
