A law firm seeks a midlevel Corporate M&A Associate to join its Dallas office. The position involves representing private equity sponsors and private or public companies in complex mergers, acquisitions, and other business transactions. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to manage deal processes, oversee junior associates, and provide high-quality client service while fostering collaboration and maintaining excellence in execution.

Duties

  • Represent clients, including private equity sponsors and public or private companies, in mergers, acquisitions, and business combinations.
  • Draft and negotiate transactional agreements and documents with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate with internal and external specialists to ensure seamless transaction processes.
  • Lead signing and closing processes for corporate transactions.
  • Manage deal execution from start to finish, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
  • Supervise, mentor, and train junior associates, fostering their growth and development.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in corporate law, specifically mergers and acquisitions.
  • Expertise in managing deal processes, including drafting and negotiating agreements and overseeing signing and closing.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external advisors.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.

Education

  • J.D. degree from a top-tier law school with strong academic performance.

Certifications

  • Active and in good standing with the Texas Bar or eligibility to become licensed in Texas.

  • Exceptional legal drafting and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
