Job Overview:

A prestigious law firm located in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney specializing in EOIR cases. This role offers the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team while handling a varied caseload that includes both detained and non-detained individuals. The selected candidate will work closely with senior attorneys and collaborate with a dedicated immigration team, contributing to the firm's continued success and growth in immigration law.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
  • Handle both detained and non-detained cases, ensuring high-quality legal representation and client support.
  • Prepare and file a range of immigration applications, including removal defense, family-based immigration petitions, and humanitarian cases.
  • Conduct legal analysis and make recommendations to clients on possible case strategies.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies tailored to individual clients, preparing them and their witnesses for court or USCIS testimony.
  • Engage with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on evolving immigration laws and practices.
  • Manage and prioritize a caseload effectively while maintaining communication with clients and legal team members.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to team-wide initiatives and case strategies.
  • Conduct in-person intakes with detained individuals at immigration centers when needed.
  • Draft legal briefs and other documentation in support of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years of experience practicing Immigration Law, particularly in EOIR matters.
  • Proven ability to manage and move cases forward effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate and work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and client relationship management.
  • Bilingual skills in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Experience with a variety of immigration matters, including Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Citizenship, and USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in good standing.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in the state of Arizona.

  • Exceptional oral advocacy and courtroom presence.
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
