Mid-level Class Action Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Chicago, IL, seeks a Mid-level Class Action Associate Attorney to join its litigation team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in class action defense and complex commercial litigation, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm. Job Details:

• Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
• Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and promptly reply to correspondence.
• Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product.
• Successfully meet deadlines and expectations and perform work duties as required.
• Foster positive work relationships within the firm and with external parties.
• Comply with all firm policies and practices.
• Engage in both physical and sedentary activities, such as working at a computer for extended periods, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.
• Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience, preferably at an AmLaw 100 firm.
• Experience managing a multi-matter docket.
• Substantial experience with class action defense and complex commercial litigation, securities, and consumer litigation.
• Previous federal clerkship is preferred.
• Strong analytical and writing skills with attention to detail.
• Good business judgment and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
• Research and problem-solving skills with conceptual thinking ability.
• Ability to influence others through persuasive communication.
• Strong project management skills, including multitasking and prioritizing effectively.
• Bar admission in Illinois is required.
