Job Overview:

Duties:

  • Handle a significant caseload within creditors’ rights and real estate law.
  • Provide counsel on issues related to bankruptcy, foreclosure, and consumer collections.
  • Participate in discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution.
  • Draft legal documents, motions, and other court filings.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, including appellate matters when applicable.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to manage cases efficiently.
  • Work directly with clients to provide effective and strategic legal solutions.
  • Assist with firm growth initiatives and contribute to expanding the firm’s industry presence.
  • Ensure timely case management and communication with clients, maintaining high standards of client service.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in the Missouri Bar or eligibility to become licensed in a short period.
  • Experience in creditors' rights law, including foreclosure and bankruptcy cases, is preferred.
  • 5+ years of litigation experience is preferred.
  • Appellate experience and familiarity with TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts.
  • Proven leadership abilities and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues.
  • Willingness to handle a high-volume caseload and prioritize client needs.
  • Ability to make court appearances and occasional travel as needed.
  • A client-first mindset with strong decision-making and judgment skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Missouri State Bar (or eligibility to become licensed promptly).
  • Additional Bar licenses in other states are a plus.
