A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking an experienced Renewable Energy and Energy Transition Transactional Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in renewable energy and energy transition matters, with a focus on complex development and finance transactions.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in renewable energy and energy transition sectors, including solar, wind, storage, hydrogen, carbon, and renewable fuels.
  • Handle various transactional matters, including equity and debt financing, mergers and acquisitions, and negotiation and drafting of project documents such as EPC contracts, BOP contracts, equipment procurement agreements, and O&M agreements.
  • Conduct due diligence, manage legal aspects of project development and financing, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with clients, senior attorneys, and project stakeholders to develop and execute legal strategies that align with client objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, demonstrating strong drafting and project management skills.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and legal developments impacting renewable energy and energy transition sectors.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Active and in good standing member of the California State Bar or Texas State Bar (as applicable).
  • 4-8 years of experience practicing law, with significant experience in renewable energy and/or energy transition matters.
  • Proven track record in handling complex development and finance transactions within the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong drafting skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage large-scale projects effectively.
  • Positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and exceptional work ethic.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Chinese language is a plus.
