Insurance Defense Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm in Hackensack, NJ, seeks an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a variety of insurance defense matters from the initial file opening through discovery to resolution, including trial. This role requires substantial trial experience, a record of verdicts, and a solid commitment to client service.

Job Duties:

• Handle a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters from inception to resolution.
• Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Represent clients in all phases of litigation, including discovery, depositions, mediations, and trials.
• Develop and implement effective legal strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
• Provide legal advice and opinions to clients regarding potential risks and outcomes.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts.
• Maintain detailed records of case activities and client communications.
• Participate in firm marketing and business development activities as needed.

Requirements:

• Actual trial experience to verdict is mandatory.
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar is required.
• Admission to the New York Bar is a plus.
• Experience in insurance defense litigation.
• Strong understanding of insurance law and defense litigation procedures.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active and in good standing with the New Jersey Bar.
• New York Bar admission is preferred.
