A prestigious law firm in Tampa, FL, is seeking an experienced Medical Malpractice Attorney to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will handle a variety of cases, including medical malpractice and nursing home abuse, from pre-suit through trial, providing critical legal expertise throughout litigation. This role requires a litigator with strong first-chair trial experience, attention to detail, and a passion for helping clients achieve justice.

Duties:

  • Manage complex Medical Malpractice and Nursing Home Abuse cases from pre-suit to trial and case resolution.
  • Conduct depositions, and hearings, and participate in trial preparations.
  • Prepare and present PowerPoint presentations at mediations.
  • Handle discovery, legal research, and case strategy development.
  • Provide effective client communication and representation throughout the litigation process.
  • Collaborate with the legal team on case strategies and case management.
  • Ensure compliance with Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and the Florida Evidence Code.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Medical Malpractice and Nursing Home Abuse cases in Florida.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cases from inception to resolution.
  • First-chair trial experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of the Florida Evidence Code and the Florida Rules of Civil Procedure.
  • Experience with depositions, hearings, and trial preparation.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Florida Bar in good standing.

Skills:

  • First-chair trial experience.
  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Strong knowledge of litigation processes, including depositions and hearings.
  • Ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations at mediations.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
