A respected law firm based in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its estate planning and elder law practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent law school graduate or early-career attorney who is eager to grow under the mentorship of experienced attorneys in a client-focused legal environment. The role involves a mix of estate planning, elder law, and related litigation work, offering meaningful professional development and hands-on client interaction.

Location

Duties

  • Draft estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives

  • Conduct legal research and draft legal memoranda, briefs, and court filings

  • Assist senior attorneys in litigation matters, including hearing and trial preparation

  • Communicate with clients to provide legal guidance, updates, and support

  • Handle sensitive client matters with professionalism, discretion, and empathy

  • Maintain and manage case files and ensure adherence to legal deadlines

Requirements

  • 0–3 years of legal experience (experience in estate planning, elder law, or litigation is a plus)

  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast-paced setting

  • Professional demeanor with a commitment to client service and ethical practice

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in North Carolina or eligible for admission
