Job Overview:

A law firm seeks an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in Lake Oswego, OR. This position offers a hybrid work model, with the flexibility to work remotely while maintaining the ability to attend occasional onsite meetings or court appearances. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil litigation defense, particularly in construction defect and casualty claims. Duties:

  • Prepare and file legal motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.
  • Represent clients in trials, arbitrations, depositions, and mediations.
  • Advise clients on case strategy and provide expert legal counsel.
  • Regularly communicate with clients and their insurers regarding case progress.
  • Conduct depositions and witness examinations.
  • Manage day-to-day litigation tasks, ensuring deadlines and case objectives are met.
  • Stay current on relevant legal developments and case law.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and team members to develop case strategies.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on defense.
  • Proven ability to draft and argue motions effectively.
  • Strong experience in managing litigation cases from inception to resolution.
  • Expertise in conducting depositions and examining witnesses.
  • Ability to navigate the court system and handle litigation tasks independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal arguments.
  • High level of analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Active membership in the Oregon State Bar.
  • Experience in construction defect or casualty claims is preferred, but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Oregon State Bar license (Required).
