Duties:

  • Provide expert legal counsel and representation in a wide range of family law matters, including uncontested and contested divorces, child custody disputes, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, child support modifications, surrogacy agreements, and more.
  • Draft, review, and prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and client representation.
  • Participate in continuing education programs, including CLE and workshops, to stay up-to-date on the latest developments in family law.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in all interactions with clients, opposing counsel, and courts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the firm’s clients receive top-notch legal support.
  • Exhibit professionalism, empathy, and courtesy in all client and legal interactions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in family law, specifically divorce and matrimonial law.
  • Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar (Connecticut Bar membership is a plus).
  • In-depth knowledge of New York family law statutes, regulations, and legal procedures.
  • Proven ability to manage a high caseload, with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong legal writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Compassionate, client-focused, and empathetic in all aspects of client relations.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar is required. Admission to the Connecticut Bar is an added benefit.
