A law firm seeks an experienced Energy Attorney to join its team in Frederick, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in energy law, including experience with regulatory compliance, transactions, and advisory work. This role offers an opportunity to work on complex and evolving energy sector matters in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on energy-related regulatory compliance, transactions, and policy matters.
  • Assist with structuring and negotiating energy sector contracts, including power purchase agreements and joint venture agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal guidance on matters related to renewable energy, energy infrastructure, and utilities.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to energy laws, policies, and industry trends.
  • Represent clients in regulatory proceedings before federal and state agencies.
  • Draft and review energy-related agreements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to develop solutions to energy-related legal challenges.

Requirements:

  • Experience in energy law, including regulatory compliance, energy transactions, and advisory work.
  • Strong understanding of the energy sector, including renewable energy, utilities, and infrastructure.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, actionable advice to clients.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and experience drafting energy-related agreements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic background.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar, with preference for applicants licensed in Maryland or seeking admission.
