A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its Ridgewood, NJ office. The firm specializes in a wide range of litigation areas, including municipal defense, employment law, automobile negligence, insurance coverage, landlord/tenant disputes, workers' compensation, and general litigation. The ideal candidate will be an attorney with experience in handling litigation matters from start to finish, including court appearances, motion practice, depositions, and trials. Duties:

  • Represent clients in various litigation matters, including municipal defense, employment claims, automobile negligence, insurance disputes, and more.
  • Manage cases from inception through trial and appeal, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Appear in court for hearings, motions, and trials.
  • Conduct depositions and client interviews.
  • Engage in legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Assist in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex legal matters and case management.
  • Provide excellent client service through regular communication and legal updates.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on municipal defense, employment law, and general litigation.
  • Must be admitted to practice law in New Jersey.
  • Strong ability to manage cases through all stages of litigation, including court appearances and depositions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in New Jersey (required).
