A law firm is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Alcohol and Distribution Associate Attorney to join their team in Boston, MA. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in alcohol beverage law and related regulatory experience. The successful candidate will have a commercial corporate background, including M&A experience, and will excel in managing legal matters with a high degree of independence and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal guidance on alcohol beverage regulations, including compliance, licensing, and distribution matters.
  • Advise clients on federal, state, and local alcohol beverage laws and regulations.
  • Handle commercial corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A) related to the alcohol industry.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for the distribution and sale of alcohol beverages.
  • Represent clients in dealings with regulatory agencies and administrative proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic analysis on regulatory issues.
  • Manage and oversee legal projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to deliver high-quality legal services.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, changes in regulations, and emerging legal issues.
  • Offer practical advice and risk management strategies based on comprehensive analysis.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in alcohol beverage law, either in-house or at a peer firm.
  • Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts.
  • Proven track record of independently managing legal matters or significant segments of complex projects.
  • Strong commercial corporate background with experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
  • Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and handle multiple demands under pressure.
  • Good judgment and practical approach to legal advice and risk analysis.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of Massachusetts.

Preferred Experience:

  • Additional regulatory experience related to FDA or food law.
  • Experience in both in-house and law firm settings.
